    Hello.

    I have the following problem.

I create a menu in Adobe Encore (dv pal 4:3) and edit it with photoshop, which tell me that the image is being previewed with corrected pixel aspect ratio. I then save the image in a different folder, and open it in After Effects to create some fancy menu fade ins. Now the trouble begin. When I turn the photoshop file into a composition, it opens it as dv ntsc. And then if i manually set the composition settings to dv pal 4:3, the menu is too small to fill the composition area. If I transform the menu to fit, and export to a movie, the movie doesn’t fit in with the menu in encore (ie. if i center a text in photoshop, and get it through AE, the text will “jump” if pre-played before the menu).

I use Adobe Production Suite 2.0 on Windows Vista.

The computer I use is at work, so can’t play with it at home, and haven’t had time to play with it there (I propably would find the solution over time), but thought it wouldn’t do any harm to have a pro give me an easy answer here.

Hope I have made myself clear, and hope for a response.

    Thx

what is the size (pixel dimensions) of the file when you edit in photoshop?

i’m trying to figure out where the the frame size is getting set to ntsc dv (720×480), it could be out of encore, i’ve never had ae change an images dimensions which sounds like what you are describing.

Hmm, good question. I seem to remember that the image size in PS is 720×480 (should be 720×576) and that it changes when i toggle pixel aspect ratio on/off. However it looked quite bad in AE, the imported file was maybe 1/3 smaller than comp size… I am guessing I need to finger with the default settings in the 3 programs.

    Ok, now at work.

In Encore i can flick the “correct menu pixels for tv display” on/off. When it’s on, the size of the window is neither 720×576 or 720×480 (copied it to clipboard with print screen and imported to photoshop to measure). When off, it’s 720×480. So it seems to be an encore problem, so I might move this question to that forum.

When I open menu in photoshop the dimensions is 720×480.
