Hello everyone! After expiration video files are often broken. In random places the video starts to hang, video and audio are out of sync. After re-exporting everything may be fine in this place, but the same problem occurs in another place (where everything was fine after the previous export). Moreover, the video does not hang in places where there are glues, but in the middle of one frame.

I noticed that the problem appears when the project consists entirely or partially of files from the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera. For example, if you use only video from the iPhone, then everything is fine.

I drop files from the flash drive immediately into the project in Final cut (I do not transfer them to the laptop), because there is not enough space for this.

MacBook Air M1 2020. Tell me, please, has anyone faced a similar problem?

    Hey Basil,

    I would check two points:

    1) Where is your media stored? (Can your MacBookAir see the folder?)

    2) Has FCPX transcoded the files?

    Hope that this helps?

    Hi Basil!

Your problem is that you’re editing from the flash drive. It is most likely formatted ExFAT, and strange behaviors will not stop until you copy the files to a different, APFS or HFS+ formatted drive (GUID partition map, too).

Best to get an external Thunderbolt SSD that is properly formatted, and edit off of that.
