So I have 5 segements for a doc…..create a new sequence with the same settings as the other 5 for Master assembly…..copy/paste all 5 segs and the cold open to my new sequencce…..render ALL video and audio…..Select Mastering tab in edit to tape window and select 10 sec of black BEFORE and 15 sec of black trailer…..select video tab and enter 00:59:50:00 as my inpoint…..drag sequence to insert pane…..Now all my rendered audio is suddenly red and FCP has to write audio(What’s up with tthat forr one)!….Tape starts tp roll and sequence starts 4 seconds later than I want it too!!!!

I have read the manual time and again and I can’t figure out what I may be doing wrong.

    I need help

[videobiker] “So I have 5 segements for a doc…..create a new sequence with the same settings as the other 5 for Master assembly…..copy/paste all 5 segs and the cold open to my new sequencce.”

First off, no need to copy / paste segments into another one. Simple create the New Sequence and simply drag the 5 segments in.

[videobiker] “elect Mastering tab in edit to tape window and select 10 sec of black BEFORE and 15 sec of black trailer…..select video tab and enter 00:59:50:00 as my inpoint…..drag sequence to insert pane…”

I never use any of the Mastering features in FCP. I’m old school and manually insert my Black, Bars and Slate into the actual Sequence I’m mastering. I’ve never had a problem mastering to tape in 4 years of using FCP.
