problems with blu ray disc playback
I have now burned a few blu ray discs from the same FCP file using the share command.
Yet it’s like russian roulette when I play the blu ray discs back- sometimes the same file will burn
completely and properly. Other times, random parts of the movie
go black on the screen do not appear at all.Is there a way to avoid this? My film is 100 minutes long and it’s getting expensive and risky
when I make minor edits in the timeline and want to burn a new blu ray disc for a screening.
I have to watch it all the way through and just today found an entirely new black screen
in the movie, that wasn’t there before on the last blu ray. Nothing changed in the timeline at that point.Any ideas?

Well first of, get a BD-RE disc. That way you can experiment till you got it set, then burn a BD-R

I have already successfully burned a blu ray disc that plays perfectly.
The problem I’m looking to solve is why do I get random
black spots on some discs and not others if they are
coming from the same FCP file ? -
Personally dont think any BD work should be done on a MAC. imgburn is free burning tool and should be the only burning tool which should be used for BD. Its PC though as are all BD authoring tools

We burn BluRay Discs on the Mac all the time.

Perhaps you have a corrupt file somewhere?
Try rebooting, checking clips in Sequence, then share to build BD files.OR, Export “Current Settings”
Check that QT file.
Then drop it into Compressor and create the BD files…Chris Tompkins

Any resolution on your woes? I’m having similar frustrating inconsistencies burning blu ray with share. At first, no problem, then, inconsistent results and errors on playback.
