  • Problems opening After Effects CS 3 on power book

I just downloaded the demo of After Effects CS3 on my power book and every time I try to open it it crashes with the opening interface at the point of “initializing user interface.” The first time i opened it-it worked, now it’s crahing everytime at this same point.

Is After Effects CS 3 meant to work on power books; i.e. non intel chip laptops? I guess another point to mention is that inbetween the time i opened it and it worked and now I have installed CS3 design suite on to my laptop and I’m kinda wondering if that’s not part of the issue.

    help!

    Check the system requirements:

Maybe you should uninstall the design suite and see what happens?

it’s possible that the design suite install messed up the ae demo…. uninstalling the demo, then reinstalling might fix it… but i think i would try trashing the ae preference file first. it should be in the users/username/library/preferences/adobe/after effects folder.

i would think the cs3 was pretty well designed for g5 processors, but for the g4 mobile processors… it may not be as well developed, but i would believe that it should at least work.
