  • Problems in FCP 2 after Mac OS Update

Posted by David Cooke on August 21, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Like many editors, we use( “Command H” and/or “Option-click a blank area of your desktop) to hide
Final Cut to easily go to and from other programs in use. Now after updating our MAC OS, when
we do this to FCP, the dock still has the indicator (blue dot) that the program is running, but it is NOT.
We have to RESTART to get FCP back. This is the first real problem we have ever had with our
MAC and FCP system since installing 2 and 1/2 years ago!
Do we need to go back to a previous OS version? Is there a patch?
    Just upgraded to Leopard 10.5.8
Intel Dual 3.ghz with 4 Gig ram.
    FCP is 6.0.6

    Hi david,
I would suggest you to run DiskWarrior, TechTools or DriverWizar.
    Cheers,

Thanks Rafael. Will give it a try. We used diskwarrior on our old MAC editing system-Affinity
and it was a great tool.

    Hi David,
If you install from scratches MacOSX, QT and FCS, and you run DiskWarrior, you will find more than 30% of “items out of order”.
No way to work like that.
    Cheers,
    rafael

    Hi
Have you tried Cmd-Tab to switch back to FCP as the active application?
