    hi guys,
I just restarted my PC and I can’t import any files unless I drag them into the project window. I’ve tried File-Import, double clicking, right clicking etc etc and everytime nothing happens. No error. No dialogue box. Just nothing. This is happening with new projects and existing ones.

I really need this to work, because I need to import photoshop files as compositions and dragging them to the project window doesn’t give you that option. I’m running 5.5 Pro on XP.

Any tips before I re-install the software?

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Try deleting the preferences.

This file is usually located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\{USER NAME}\Application Data\Adobe\After Effects\Prefs
(move or delete all the files in the dir.)
