  • Problems galore all of a sudden.. MOV? H264?

So tonight I did first editing of Koday Zi8 files. All MOV files. I am running Corecodec for H.264 files, if that is a possible issue, let me know. I also have QT installed.

I have not been having crashes on Vegas before, but that was with AVCHD foramtted content. Tonight, as I moved MOV content from the external SATA drive into my project, Vegas seemed to choke. These files are anywhere from 200+MB to much smaller.

Vegas gave me low memory errors, and shut down Vegas more than once, sending error messages to Sony each time. I would restart the computer, restart Vegas, nothing would help. It almost seemed like the timeline was corrupt.

What is happening when I bring a 200 MB file into the timeline? The symptoms I had was that the preview window would turn red, and the machine would give me an error message that I was low on memory. (I have 6 GBs RAM, and this was the only thing running. )

This is a new problem. Machine has been stable with Vegas until now. No other crashes with other software. It appears that Vegas will not render this timeline at all. No idea why.

Quad Core AMD Athalon II, 6 GBs RAM. Multiple drives.

This problem appears to have cleared up for now.

I am having the same exact issue with
    the Kodak Zi8/Vegas/Low Memory error.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do.
    Thank you,
