  • Problems exporting panasonic MTS files

I am trying to export footage shot by a Panasonic using premiere pro cs5.5. the Canon camera footage exports beautifully, the Panasonic results in a black screen.

A colleague has tried it on premiere pro cc and it doesn’t work on that either.

I have come from PowerDirector and had no problems with these files there.

I have tried footage from a variety of shoots and they all result in a black screen

    There are two options.

    1. Use Prelude to transcode the footage. To do this, you have to ingest the footage, and set the parameters you want, transcode, then right click the footage and send to premiere. This is a great option if you have lots of footage from different sources and want to put it into the same I-frame codec.

    2. Use the Media Browser in Premiere to import the footage into the Project. (Often people are not using the Media Browser and that’s the problem).
