Problems exporting in mono
Hi all… thanks in advance for any help.
We’re trying to export out a sequence that has music and speech stuck on one channel only (recorded from wireless mic).
Problem is that on many of the export presets, like ‘CineForm AVI’ or ‘CineForm MOV’ there is no option to export in mono.
If we leave in stereo, the end result plays that particular audio on one channel only and that’s not what we want.
So, what would be a way to achieve the result of exporting in a high quality format and still get mono audio (merge the audio tracks)?
Or, which export format would be the best that includes the choice of exporting in mono…. maybe ‘Uncompressed AVI’ ?
Maybe should mention that we’ll use the exported files in Encore to produce a dvd for viewing on an HD TV.

Create a mono sequence and export?
OR:
Centre pan your source audio in a stereo sequence? (although if the source is ‘stereo’ with only one track containing the audio you need then you need to do something else…)
MAYBE:
Modify the source clips to be 2 x mono tracks (rather than 1 x stereo) and place in a mono, or standard, track in the timeline – should come out centre panned when monitoring stereo.
OR:
If you have discrete mono tracks in a stereo pair on a clip in the timeline, and you only want one of those tracks, you can apply a ‘fill left’ or ‘fill right’ audio effect to the clip.

Was able to get most of what we needed with the right & left fill.
Experimenting with your other suggestions too.
