Problem with rendering in Sony Vegas
Posted by Dragomir Ralchev on September 8, 2011 at 4:56 pmHello guys!
I have a small trouble with sony vegas, and especially rendering a video shoot with Nikon D90.
The settings are the following:

September 9, 2011 at 2:50 amLooks like deinterlacing issue. Try setting Deinterlacing Method to blend fields
My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

Your project settings are wrong. 24.000 (Film) is for working with film transfers. Since your Nikon D90 doesn’t shoot film you should not be using this setting. Use the built-in Sony template HDV 720-24p (1280×720, 23.976 fps) instead.

What are your render properties? Which template are you using?

September 10, 2011 at 10:58 amI am using the same settings, as my project.
MainConcept codec, WMV, both are smoothing the video.

You didn’t say which render template you are using? We can’t help you if you’re not going to answer our questions.
Can you post a screen capture of your render settings at least?

September 11, 2011 at 3:32 pmIt looks like you built your own template instead of using one of the templates supplied by Sony. Unless you’re an expert, I wouldn’t advise that.
Try using Sony AVC instead of MainConcept AVC with one of the built-in “Internet 720p” templates. Change the frame rate to 23.976 fps if you have to. Don’t change anything else other than bit rate.
Also, when you right-click on an event and go to Properties | Media what frame rate is Vegas showing for your footage? I’m guessing that somewhere alone the line the frame rates don’t match.
