  problem with particular and sprites

  I’m using AE CS5 and I’ve gone though a tutorial https://library.creativecow.net/articles/birnholz_rob/red_giant_3d_montage/video-tutorial.php showing how to use particular and pictures. My problem is that when I change the settings in particular, from sphere to sprite I only see about 6 pictures of 283 where as with the settings on sphere I see hundreds of spheres,also when using the camera to scrub left to right all I see is the camera on the view panel moving rather than the pictures moving left to right., I’ve linked some screen shots.
