Problem with MPGStreamclip
Hello,
I recently downloaded the Mac version of Mpgstreamclip for use on my Mac Pro 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM Ram.
I am using this software to convert DVCPRPO HD QUICKTIMES into .avi files for a client. The first three or four files converted perfectly fine using the File>Export>Movie to Save as AVI. Now however when I do this the computer shows the export happening but when I open the resulting AVI file there is nothing there. When I get info on the new AVI it shows it is 6.68 GB which is the same size as the original QUICKTIME. But, again there is no video or audio when I try to play the file.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Are you by any chance doing this procedure in Streamclip and directing the files onto a FAT32 formatted drive? If so, you are encountering the dreaded 4Gb file size limitation.

Thanks for responding. I’m working on Mac formatted drives. One of my successful AVI files is in excess of 9 GBs- so no problem there. It’s not a space issue on the drive- I have 6 TB remaining on the drive.
I am now attempting to do this in a different fashion. Actually opening the QT in MPGStreamclip and saving the file as AVI. That process just finished as I’m writing this- and it looks like the file is good. Before I was exporting from QUICKTIME.
So, we’ll see if this workflow continues to work with in MPGStreamclip.
