Problem with going from 5d Canon to ProRes
Hello there guys
I have some 20hours of material shot on the Canon 5D Mark II to import into Final Cut. It has to be edited with XDcam footage in 1080p25 so i am looking to transfer the 30p from the 5D to ProRes in 25p.
Grading will be in Color, Delivery propably in ProRes and DigiBeta.So far what seems to work best is to open footage in the browser and export i from there through BatchExport. This way picture is changed to 25p and sound to 48KHz.
I also tried MPEG streamclip but the footage comes out as 30p dispite picking the 25p option before renderout from MPeg Streamclip.
The same happens with going through Compressor. The footage comes out as 30p. In compressor i could not find the option to adjust to 25p. It just has passthrough of framerate. Do i need to do a custom setting to get ProRes in 25p?
I found a post mentioning ProRes LT and ProRes Proxy but have not found these options ( may this be due to the fact that i am working on FCstudio2 ?

What you do is choose the ProRes for Progressive, then change the frame rate from 30fps to 25fps. Put all your frame controls on BEST, and then take a few days to enjoy life as your machine will be chugging along converting 20 hours of footage for a while.
