Problem with frames (maybe playback) in AE CS4

Hi!
I’m new to this forum and I hope that I posted this topic in the right place. Well, I’m not American (as you can see), I’m from Bulgaria. And I know, my English is not very good. I hope you can understand me.

So, I have a problem. When I import a video file in CS4, which is HD (1280×720), the footage has cutted frames. I don’t know what is the problem, is it from the playback or from the footage.. Well, I checked the footage (played it with Media Classic, QTime, Media Player).. and it played fine, without any lagging and frame problems!
But in AE CS4 the imported footage is damaged, even after rendering. I thought it will be only “damaged” in the preview in AE CS4, so I rendered it. And, after that, the rendered file was also with frame problem. Hmm, sorry for repeating.. xD

And, also, when I check every frame in AE of the footage, I have problem like that:

The first frame is fine, second is missing, third is the second one, but mixed up with some else frame. And it’s randomly choosing the “cutting” of frames.. I don’t know what’s wrong..

256 MB nVidia 8600 GT (video),
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2,71GHz
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Hello Hristo,

What is your MOV encoded to?
Is your comp frame rate set to 23.976 to match the source video?

Although unlikely to be the cause since you said the problem is seen in AE renders as well as the composition window – have you tried switching off fast previews or the openGL acceleration feature as they might not be liking your graphics card / graphics drivers.

Well, I don’t know, I used the footage from VIDEO COPILOT’s Action Essentials 2 product.

Yes, the comp is set to match with the frames of the footage.

Well, I didn’t tried switching it off, because I didn’t knew about that. Now I will try it.. I’m still beginner with that..
