Problem with compositing modes clashing
Situation: For the intro to my video I have text effects that use the compositing mode “burn”. I have the 3 tracks dedicated to this text effect below all the other tracks because if the tracks with the burn mode on it is on top it will affect the whole video. I want to add a text effect using a different compositing mode at the end of the video.
Problem: When I make 3 new tracks and try to add a different text effect to the end of the video it gets effected by the “burn mode” track. When I put these 3 new tracks above the “burn mode” track then the “overlay mode” track with the new 3 messed up my intro text effect.
Question: Is there a way to make a certain track or clip ignore a compositing mode from above?

Is there a way to limit the compositing mode to only a certain clip on the track?I’ve been playing around with the program for a while, but can’t find a solution. Any help would be much appreciated.

No, you would have to split your source tracks so that they can have their own compositing. You can also do the compositing in a nested project but that doesn’t solve the issue that some are burn mode and some are overlay.

By splitting my source track, do you mean I can make it so i have side by side source tracks and use different compositing modes?
If that’s not it, what does it actually do and how do i do it?

I mean split your source and physically move part of it to another track and then parent that new track to other tracks with a different compositing modes. You have unlimited tracks in Vegas.
