problem with advc100 preview to external monitor with after effects 6.5
When I use my advc100 to do firewire preview in after effects pro 6.5, the video will often times cut out for a fraction of a second, leaving a black screen. All of my video is prerendered and is playing back real time. This cutting out happens every few seconds. My other problem is that, sometimes, when programs crash or hang up, if I click off my advc100, it will let go of the program and it will close instantly. If the converter stays on, it will say “not responding” on the program, and just stay up, not allowing me to close it. Yet another problem is that, if I must turn off my converter and turn it back on, it seems that my computer will no longer recognize my firewire harddrive. Are there drivers I’m missing or something? I have windows XP with SP 2. I thought SP 2 was supposed to address many of the firewire problems, but I still have problems all the time. Any help is appreciated.
