Problem with 3D layers
Can anyone explain why, when I check the 3D layer box on one layer in a comp, all the other layers (above and below) become invisible? This problem is driving me mad as I can’t see what I’ve done. I’ve used 3D layers with no problem previously.

Is it possible that they’re all in the same position in Z space, so the 3D layer is blocking the others? Are the other layers 3D as well? What version of After Effects are you using?

Hi Joe, thanks for responding. Not all the layers are 3D and I’m using CS5.5.

Make sure that your Composition Viewer is set to “Active Camera” and not “Custom View” or “Front” or one of the other alternate viewing angles.

Yep, the view is definitely Active Camera.

You’re right! I’d checked it and I was in active camera but it must have got switched accidentally! How silly but thanks for your help.
