Problem using Timewarp effect on clip in PPro CS4
Hi,
I’m trying to use the Timewarp effect on a video clip but I can’t get it to work somehow.
The original clip is aprox. 20 seconds, but I want for example from 10 seconds to 15 from the clip which I mark up. I drag the clip to the timeline and then add the Timewarp effect with lets say 50% of the normal speed. My clip on the timeline is still 5 seconds long.
Shouldn’t it expand/stretch so that my desired part still shows in complete but in slow motion?
If I manualy try make the clip longer (drag to resize/stretch) in the timeline, the end of the part acts weird and freezes.Am I using the effect wrong? How amd I supposed to do if I want a part of a clip and show it in smooth slow motion in the timeline?

Ok, so there’s noone here using the time warp effect i assume…
I’ve tried a few other ways ‘Time remapping speed’ for example, but the results are not as good as when I use the Time Warp effect.
BUT, I can’t seem to use the Time Warp effect on more than a few seconds before it freezes the image.Please, anyone got an idea what to try?

Hi Anders,
I know it’s quite a while since you posted this, but I’ve only started using this effect. I noticed the same issue, that the clip always stays the same length on the timeline no matter how much you speed up and slow down. Also, it only seems to take into account the clip’s length on the timeline not the clip’s in and out points, so for example if you have a 10 seconds of a clip on the timeline where the master is 20 seconds long, and you slow it to 50%, the length on the timeline will be the same, but it will cut out of the clip sooner.
This causes problems like you describe when it gets to the end of the clip, it does funny things when it tries to look at out points. The workaround that I found for this was to put the clip on another sequence, then drag this sequence into the master sequence and apply the effect on the master timeline.
