    Hi all,

I’m having trouble setting up my new Sennheiser G3, straight out of the box. I followed the instructions and:
    1) Turned on the receiver. Selected “easy setup” and then “scan new list”
    2) Selected the BANK that was recommended.
    3) I saw zero RF/AF activity because I was on a free channel (indicating success)
    4) Powered on the transmitter. Pressed SYNC to match w/ receiver.
    5) Sync was successful (saw a check mark icon)

Now, the RF light on the receiver stays on green.
The RF signal bar on the LCD is also all the way up.
On the transmitter, the AF bar is basically all the way up and fluctuating every so slightly.
But there is no other indication of there being reception? When I talk into the mic, nothing moves, even when I shout loudly there is no indication that there’s anything going on.
When I plug the device in to my Tascam DR-40, again, there is nothing.

Can anyone help? I tried calling Sennheiser, but they’re closed for Thanksgiving weekend, and I’m sure many people on here will also be celebrating but just thought I’d put it out there.
    Thank you!
    Elissa

On the transmitter is the mute switch near the antenna, on or off?

    Hi Brian,
Thank you very much for your reply. The switch is off, so it’s very confusing as to why this is happening!

Is the mic cable all the way in and the locking coller done up lightly?
What is the mic gain setting in the menu on… Should be about 20 or 30
Is the coded squelch ( I think that is what senni call it ) the same on both TX and RX

Just looked at the unit, Sennheiser call it ‘Pilot’

Thank you again, Brian, that’s very helpful, I just changed the settings and now it appears to be working!
