    Hello,

I wonder if someone can help me with a problem relating to third party plugins ? I am running vegas platinum 9 (a present from my daughter) she also bought me a few third party plugins one being “magic bullets editor” but for the life of me I cannot figure why I cannot view the plugin in the fx tab. I loaded it into the Sony folder file in my programe files folder, should I have placed it within the vegas folder or have I missed something ?

    Any help would be great,

    Paul

I may not be the best to speak on this as I don’t own the platinum product- I only have the pro version. With that being said, I know that scripting does not work with the platinum version- it could very well be that 3rd party plugins do not work with the consumer version either.

According to Red Giant, they do not show support for your version of Vegas- https://www.redgiantsoftware.com/support/compatibility/host-applications/sony-vegas/

Hi, thanks very much for your feedback, to be honest I had wondered if this might be the problem. It looks like an upgrade is on the cards !

    All the best,

As another Vegas Pro user making somewhat-educated guesses, I’ll mention that VMS does support plug-ins (NewBlue has one or few specifically for VMS). But I would imagine that the plug-in developer has the option of deciding which Vegas edition they will support.

    Hi,

I started this thread a few weeks ago when at the time I had a copy of vegas platinum, anyway to cut along story short I upgraded to vegas 8 pro but, I am still unsure as to why the third part plugins wil still not show up in the fx tab. I installed them all within the plugins folder, I think I am missing something here..

    All the best,

    Paul
