Problem initializing deck in FCP 5
I have 2 systems with FCP 5 (powerbook and G5), only the powerbook can digitize and/or initialize my jvc DV deck. I’ve been through my audio/video preferences, user and system settings a 100 times on the G5 and the deck is not noticed by FCP. When I open up the same exact project on the powerbook it fires right up and I can digitize. Obviously I’d rather digitize and edit all on my main system (the G5), but I’m having very little luck. Can anyone help me with this?

This is a very common problem.
I can be caused by having a FW device connected to the Mac when upgrading.https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
