Problem in FCP with Boris 4
I have posted this in the Boris forum also and wanted to see if anyone might have a different take on it here. So far no one has responded, but it’s still early.
I am using Boris Red 4.3.1 inside FCP 6.0.6. I can put Boris Red on a clip and open it in FCP (without having to launch the Red engine) I then create my effect but when I render it on the timeline in FCP the effect length is cut in half. The clip length is not shortened there is just black on the timeline. I have been getting around this by outputting a quicktime of the effect and bringing it in as a new piece of media, but I think you can see the problems with working that way. Has anyone seen this before and if so how did you solve it.Jon Miller

In Red do you see the duration as matching the clip duration?
If it does try trashing the FCP Cache files:
To do so go to the “GO” menu in finder and choose home. Then navigate to
Library> Preferences> Final Cut Pro User Data. Trash the “Final Cut Pro OBJ
Cache” and “Final Cut Pro Prof Cache” Launch Final Cut Pro and try again.If it is still giving you the problem trash the Red preference files you find in the User> Library> Preferences directory.
If you are STILL seeing an issue save out the FCP project file and send it to me to look at.

I want to thank you Matt and Jon for helping me. I first trashed the FCP prefs that you suggested but that did not solve the problem. I quit FCP and trashed the Boris and FCP prefs and that fixed the problem, I just wanted to let you know in case some else has the same problem. Thanks again.
