  • Problem importing BWAV into Avid Xpress

We’re converting stereo BWAV files (48kHz, 24-bit) into mono files using Soundgrinder, then trying to import them into Avid Xpress. But when we do, most of them — 2 out of 3 of them — lose their original timecode (and start from 00:00:00:00). When importing these 2 files, Xpress says “converting from QT media”; when converting the one that works, it says “converting WAV media to WAV media”. When importing into FCP, all the files keep their original timecode.

    What’s going on?

we’re running 5.6. i found a post somewhere else that mentioned the same problem with 24-bit files, as with ours. is it possible converting to 16-bit files could solve this problem? i can’t test till later.
