  • Problem Importing AI Sequence for Cartoonization

    Hi,

I’ve been starting to use Aharon Rabinowitz’s cartoonization process. It works very well! 🙂

Last night I made a cartoon, and then decided that the “cartoon lines” AI files were too dark. I got into Illustrator, changed the lines preset, generated a new sequence of .ai files, and attempted to pull them into AE.

Instead of 5 seconds worthof frames, I only got 1 frame imported. I tried this again and got the same result. I then tried to pull a subset of the first set of line AI files into AE, and it worked fine.

Any idea of what’s going on here?

    Thanks much,
    Steve

Sounds like you missed a step – make sure you’ve got AI/EPS/PDF Sequence checked off in the import file dialog.

If you’re in AE 7, Also try dragging the entire folder containing the image sequence directly into the project window – by default AE 7 will assume it’s a sequence.

6.5 can do this as well, but i don’t know if it;s the default setting or if you need to go into the preferences first.
