Problem editing HDV with DVCPRO HD 720p60
I am editing a project in which most of the material was shot with Varicams in DVCPRO HD 720p60. However I need to mix in some shots from a Sony Z1 which records in HDV 1080i60. In a Final Cut Pro DVCPRO HD 720p60 sequence I have been rendering the HDV material but it looks like the motion is being strobed. I presume this is due to the fact that HDV 1080i60 is actually 30 fps. But I am not really certain why I have this problem. I tried exporting the clips through Compressor without a positive outcome. I have a Kona LHe card but the AJA people tell me it takes a Kona 3 to do the cross conversion. Is anyone familiar with this problem? Suggestions short of buying a Kona 3?
