Problem between my Betacam, Io LA and FCP
Hi everyone, I have an AJA IO LA working with a Sony Betacam 2650. As soon as I try to capture the image with the RS 422 device , final cut automatically closes. The only way that I’ve found to make it to run normally is to select “no control device” on the menu…but the problem is that I really need to remotely manage the Betacam and having the “time code” shown…does any of you guys knows how to fix this problem??

Have you tried the following?
1. Be sure you have the latest AJA drivers and firmware
2. Trash your Final Cut Pro Preferences
3. Repair Permissions -
what version an MAC OS are you running. I used to see older versions of FCP just “close” all by themselves. To get VTR control from your 2650, you do need to select an EASY SETUP that corresponds to your Beta VTR – have you done this (and of course, follow the advice of trashing your preferences).
