    Greetings.

I am working in ProAnimator 4.0.2 to create silver-ish type with red bevelled edges. I used a default texture (#14 in Object Styles – blue/gray chrome with blue reflective edges – I changed the edges to red). FWIW my Machine is a G5 Powermac Quad running OSX 10.4.8.

The graphic was approved by the client (whew!) at video res. Now I am trying to rez it up for print use. Rendered at the highest res in ProAnimator “FILM” 4096 pixels wide, I am seeing thin random horizontal line artifacts on the faces of the type and also on the sides.

I am using the Invigorator renderer. I tried the OpenGL renderer, got cleaner results, except the type was all kind of squeezed into the lower left quadrant.

I hope I’ve been thorough enough in my desciption of the problem.

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions for getting a clean render at this higher rez?

    Thanks and best wishes,

    Richard Brooker

    Hi Richard.

Is there any chance you could post a screen shot of what you’re seeing.

Also, is there any way you can send me a version of your project so that I can take a look
at the artifacts? There may be a rendering bug.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Richard and Matt..

Just curious… was it a rendering error, a model problem or something else… reversed normals?

    Hello Jon.

It was something about “rendering optimization code that didn’t look too good at these levels.”

I should let Matt answer this one, it’s way over my head.

It got fixed and I’m a happy camper!
