Posted by Dave Petteruto on July 6, 2009 at 6:14 pmHi All, Other than the few presets posted on the JETDV site (TheHappyFriar) does anyone know where more Pro Titler presents can be downloaded from? Hope you all had a great 4th of july weekend.
Thanks

July 6, 2009 at 11:39 pmDid you manage to get them loaded into Pro Titler? I followed the instructions on jetdv.com but there is no directory line as stated. example: c:Documents and Settings{username}Application DataSonyTitler 1.0Collections” in XP.
I did a search and found no such sub directory “Titler” or “Application Data”, and did not find anything in the Sony, or Sony setup directories.

July 7, 2009 at 12:01 amSteve, try this.
Go to your Control Panels folder and open the Folder Options folder. Go to the “View” tab and turn/click on the button that says “Show hidden files and folders”. Once you do that the path you can’t find should show up and then if you don’t have the Collections folder just make one. Let me know if it works for you.
Thanks

July 7, 2009 at 3:37 amOkay, that seemed to work. Made a “Collections Folder” and put them in there, but can’t seem to get them to work when I delete the text that makes up the preset, like “falling off ledge”. When I delete that text, and put in my own, the text tilts but doesn’t fall. Actually I have only used Pro Titler about 15 minutes in the last year. Not an easy process, like everyone else seems to say, and very little explanations on how to do things. I grab titler from media generator, and drag one of the presets to the timeline. Titler opens up, I drag, say “Fall off Ledge” from the collections tab, to the Titler timeline, erase their text and type mine in, and play. Text tilts, but doesn’t do any falling. Same with the others.

July 7, 2009 at 3:57 amI’m in the process of learning Protype titler myself and have probably less time on the software than you do. With that said I’m not able to help you with your last questions/problems–sorry.
Thanks

The trick is to not delete the existing text but to replace it. Highlight the text from the preset and then start typing over it. The effects are attached to the first letter so you must be careful to never delete the first letter. Always highlight and type over it so that the effects get re-assigned to the new letters you are typing.

July 7, 2009 at 3:29 pmI did that with the jmh preset “falling off edge” (or something like that). I deleted all but the last letter of original text, typed mine in, then deleted the last letter of original text. Then hit play button. Text tilted, but none of the text fell, like the original. Also, are there anymore presets out there (on the internet that can be downloaded?

John said to replace the letters, not delete them.
Try doing it that way and see if it works for you. Also, are there anymore presets out there (on the internet that can be downloaded?
Check out Stephen Howe’s site (aka TheHappyFriar).
He has several examples on there for you to download and play with.
