    Hello Everyone,

I am working on a project i shot on my canon 5D mark II and I have converted my video files from the native H264 format to Pro Res422, every time i play back the video on my timeline i see that it plays slower than it normally should and the video also tends to jump not showing my transitions.I have boosted up my mac pro intel QUAD core to 8 gigs of ram, in addition i installed two 320GB internal drives i’m about to convert to a raid, in the meantime i’ve been storing the files on the main 500 GB drive that came with my mac pro. I do not know if there is a proper setting i need to adjust so it can accommodate the footage but IF ANYONE has any idea as to how i could fix this it would make my life a WHOLE LOT EASIER! thanks in advance!

You do not EVER use your OS drive for media – this is rule#1

Put your media on one of the other drives. (Strip em and u’ll have faster thruput) and reconnect media – should play fine then.
    Always use 7200rpm drives.

Chris is totally correct about not using your system drive to store media for your edit. That drive is constantly being interrupted by the OS as it controls your Mac. Video need constant bandwidth (without interruption) or you’ll see that jerking, slow and/or out of sync result. Also, fill any gaps between clips in your timeline with slug. Otherwise, when playing across those gaps you’ll lose sync.
