April 24, 2008 at 4:39 amI think that FC can play in RT by FW all the “FW friendly codecs” and more .
With FC5.0 you could play DV50 over a DV25 system. Now not only DV25, DV50 or Proress play OK. Appel 8/10b Uncompress do it too (before you got only a still frame). The EX-1 footage also play through FW even if hasn’t be rendered as Proress.
Great. I wish Apple would support RT for other QT codecs. (Sheer for example).Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
JVC DTV-17″
SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table. -

nope, you remember wrong on this one Ben, HDV to DV was cited specifically in the documentation, but only as an example. realtime format conversion for any of the native codecs has been there since the 6.0 release. just an fyi
