Hi and happy new year to all.

My snag, although not too serious is:

I have made a SD PAL ‘b roll’ assembly from SD footage grabbed using Pro Res HQ, for issue to the TV news boys – no problem recording to anologue tape or dv via component output. So, now that I use XDCAM I thought I would convert the Pro Res timeline to dv and export/archive to SD XDCAM and also via firewire to SD dv tape. The problem that the conversion produces very bad flicker / jurkiness – I have tried changing field dominance including ‘none’ but results not good enough. Any ideas why Pro Res HQ doesn’t convert to dv very well? Any advice greatfully received.

Your ProRess PAL should be Upper-first.
If you drop it in a DV PAL (Lower-first) sequence the footage needs a Shift-fields filter on top.
