Printing 4 discrete audio channels to tape; channel 1 and 2 get mixed
I’m using FCP 7 to print to tape a four-discrete channel video and file to my dvcam vtr.
The resulting tape recording has audio channel 1 and 2 mixed together on channel 1. The other three channels are recording correctly, ie. channel 2 audio in on channel 2 on the tape, etc….
I have correctly mapped the audio outputs in FCP so that source 1 goes to channel 1, etc….
I have correctly mapped the audio recording on the VTR menu-as above.
I have an AJA I/O HD between my FCP 7 system and the VTR. The AJA device indicates 4 descrete audio vu meters while I am recording to tape.
Yet, I am unable to record 4 stand-alone descrete audio sources to separate tracks on the tape.
Any ideas?

OK, after mapping, in the main SEQUENCE SETTINGS window, did you set the audio out settings (lower right) to be DISCREET? Not Channel Grouped…
