Print to tape – HDV footage to DV tape
Hello,
I´m a student from Portugal, and i’ve filmed a short-cut with the Sony Z1 in HDV 1080i50 and edited in final cut pro 7.
The problem is that my teachers want the short-cut printed to a DV tape and not to HDV.
I don’t know what is the best way to convert this.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

By DV tape do you mean mini DV tape? Because recording onto a mini DV tape is simple, and I’m unaware of many schools who work in ‘full’ DV tapes…

You need to copy and paste your footage into a DV/NTSC sequence, RENDER, then PRINT TO VIDEO.
Or…HDV can be played out as DV, I think. But not at good quality.

Yes you can output HDV via firewire to DV but the quality is quite poor and no good for final output.

yes, i mean mini DV tape. i got a response, saying i need to past the short cut into a dv sequence and render. i’m going to give it a try

In Portugal we use the PAL format. I’m going to give it a try this week. Thank you for the help!
