Print to Tape FCP Problem
Hi guys,
Have a problem here. Need to submit the project ASAP so I’m in a little hurry and your help will be very much appreciated.
I have HDV Project in FCP2 which has been also converted to PAL DV .mov clip (letterboxed). I have to submit it to the station on MiniDV tape. I do not have a deck so I try to record it back to the Sony MiniDV camera from which I have captured the clips from.
The problem is that FCP2 connects to the camera (capture settings are all set to DV PAL and FireWire PAL) and captures the clip from camera without problems (all controls from FCP like play, stop, etc. work fine), but when I playback the clip on time line it does not show up on the camera LCD as it should – the single frames show up only if I stop the playback on timeline (sometimes this does not do too). I though it was due to the large resolution of the project, so I converted it to PAL DV .mov clip, imported back to FCP2, put it in the sequence and played it back, but the result on camera was the same. The same happens when I use the Print to Tape function – it sees the camera, makes it start the recording, the clip plays well on the screen but the same still frames appear on the camera and recorded respectively (it feels like the camera is acting the same way as to play the Full HD on old computer and it only plays sound correctly and the video is shown as still frames).
I searched the internet and the solution I found on Apple website was that it was Quicktime’s fautl. So I did as they said – deleted Quicktime verions, installed the new one, rebooted, but the result was the same.
Could you guys please let me know what I’m doing wrong and how I can solve this problem?
I have iMac (Core2Duo), Final Cut Pro 2, the MiniDV camera is little Sony DCR-HC21E PAL, connection is through FireWire.
Thank you in advance and looking forward for your replies.
