Hi, I’m trying to use an editable sphere with a surface as smooth as possible.
With a the original primitive object (on the left) this isn’t a problem, but when converting to editable it displays hard edges in the render:

The obvious thing to do would be to use a primitive with 100s of segments, but this method feels over complicated with too many unnecessary polygons.
I then put a bevel deformer on it, to affect the extrusion:

Is there a better way of achieving a perfect sphere without upping the segments?

    Thanks

Put it in a subdivision surface.

    that works, thanks Jim.

I found having the bevel deformer’s subdivision set to 0 gave the best results

    I’m glad it helped.
