  • Prime lens adapter DOF question

    Tech question.
When using a DOF adapter such as the Letus, The lens in front of the adapter determines Depth of Field. The image is projected on the ground glass in front of the EX1/3 Lens.
Does the iris on the camera lens (behind the DOF adapter) have any bearing on DOF?

Will a standard DOF calculator work for a Letus?

Letus Tech support can take weeks to get back to me, so I decided to ask the experts.

“Does the iris on the camera lens (behind the DOF adapter) have any bearing on DOF?”
No but the focus of this lens is critical. You will end up wide open most of the time on the EX lens as these adapters eat light.

“Will a standard DOF calculator work for a Letus?”
If you are asking if the 35 mm lens will have the same calculations of DoP then Yes.

    Good Luck

Wow, do they really take weeks to get back to you? I’ve buy Cinevate’s Brevis if that’s the case.
