I’m trying to preview render a sequence in CS6 with maybe 30 clips on it but for some reason, no matter what sequence settings I use premiere keeps adding video files to the render. Basically as it renders it says” rendering x of y” and the y number keeps increasing. I let it run for over an hour and it did not stop. I cancelled it around the 10,000 clip mark. This isn’t isolated to the system that I’m on, I’ve had this issue on another systems as well. Also, it does not matter what I have selected, in-outs or work area bar, nothing changes it. The problem persists even when I bring the sequence into another sequence.

    System specs:
    2012 MacPro Tower
    12 core intel Xeon processor
    16gb Ram
    Radeon HD 5770
    OSX Lion 10.7.3

The media is all P2 media shot on a Panasonic HPX300.
I’ve been using Premiere Pro since CS1 came out, I’ve never encountered this.
    any help would be appreciated.

    hello casey,

also never heard of a problem like this. But it sounds like a corrupt project or corrupt prefs.
you can clean prefs and try to import the sequence to a new project. This could help.

    Nils,
Thanks for the suggestion, I tried this, but still no luck. again, I’m having the same problem on multiple systems.
It was a good suggestion though, that’s my first stop when avid starts to go funky!
