preview quality: 16 options. why?
What’s the point of having 16 options for quality for preview window? Isn’t it enough to just have auto-full-half-quarter? I know lower quality shows proxies, full shows original (vegas pro 13), but when do I choose draft etc? Honest question, no critique, just want to know what I’m missing. Can anyone please enlighten me?

One setting is accuracy of render (Draft, Preview, Good, Best) and the other is resolution (Auto, Full, Half, Quarter). At Draft, the image is very pixelated even at full resolution which requires very little compute power, while Preview is fine for most editing. If, however, you see something that isn’t quite right, switching to Good, will usually dedicate more to processing the image better. This is especially true when using FX. Plug-ins like Boris Continuum Complete can look completely different at Preview than at Good. In this case you might use Good Quarter instead of Preview Full to keep the playback frame rate acceptable.
