Preview enabler in FCP

preview disabled means that FCP does not see the deck. Check your connections and try again. Check on the bottom of the color bars, it will probably say, no communication.

Preview is disabled, however I am able to control the camera via the controls in the log and capture window.

Click on the the clip settings tab and make sure you have the video and audio boxes checked.

Any other firewire media device plugged in? ie deck or media converter.
