Do you have deck control? What is your hardware configuration?

    Hope this helps-

Often you must trash your preference files when this happens.
Go to kenstone.net for the article on that.

The more important thing to understand is WHY that is happening.
Likely you are using FireWire drives and perhaps even daisy chaining your DV Cam or deck to the drive. This is not an ideal way to be set up – as the FireWire bus is becoming too crowded to display the image on both your video monitor AND the Log and Capture Window.

Of course, if you don’t have a video monitor, you’ll never realize this, so hook one up – or at least a TV set. You hook it up through your deck or camcorder.

To prevent this from happening again and you feel you MUST use unsupported FireWire drives, get a PCI card with extra FireWire ports on them and place that inside your G4 or G5. If you have a PowerBook then you’ll need a Card Bus adapter with FireWire ports on them.

If you are running an iMac or iBook, then you are SOL as far as fixing the problem.

    Hope this helps you.
