Preview and Project screens won’t play
when I load a premiere project on pressing the start button in the preview screen or the project screen nothing happens. If I scrub along the timeline I can see the video moving also there is no sound. I use a Tascam FW1884 controller/sound device and this operates on ASIO drivers. If I turn the FW1884 off and reset the audio hardware to WDM the video in both screens play and I can see the sound meter levels bouncing up and down but I can’t hear anything because the sound module is off. can anyone think of why this should be happening. only a week or so ago everything just worked fine without any adjustments. The only thing I’ve done since then is install Norton anti virus which I have now uninstalled but still no good.

When you choose an ASIO device in your Audio Hardware preferences and click on “ASIO Settings”, what do you see?

Hi Eddie,
it puts up the FW-1844 control panel and in the general options page you can select the clock type and the audio settings eg 44.1 KHz, 48 KHz etc -
Are the settings appropriate for your project?
