say i put a clip somewhere in the middle of my timeline, and i decide later that i want to take it out again, i would usually just click it and hit delete. but when i do that, the clips to the right shift down left, and messes things up.
i know a work around (moving the clip to the end of the timeline then deleting it) but what is the easy answer?
    thanks

Press the DELETE key on the main keyboard…the one next to the + key and above the RETURN key. That DELETE performs a LIFT…leaving a hole. The DEL key above the arrow keys does an CUT…meaning that it closes the gap.
