Preserve resolution by putting 1920 footage into 1280 sequence?
Hi-
Is this workaround true or false:
You can preserve resolution when you have to scale up 1920x 1080 footage by putting it in a 1280×720 sequence.
Wondering if this works for when you have to punch in on footage to cover edit points when you only have a single camera.
Talking real basic, Canon 5mk111, 23.987 fps, 1920×1080 footage in premiere cc 2014.

True, in Premiere, when you drag the clip to the 720 timeline, right click and make sure you select “set to frame size”. If you click “scale to Frame Size”, Premiere will downscale the clip to 720, defeating what you’re trying to do. “Set to Frame Size” will allow you to punch in to regions of the frame.
