preservation of quaility, workflow question

ive got a question.
i have a finished printed show on a tape in hdv. Now I want a sd dv tape and a sd DVD in the BEST quality possible. I have a hdv tape deck and a kona lhe card.I have been thinking import in uncompressed 8-bit SD, then print to dv tape and also render that into mpeg2 for dvd. What do you think?
And what settings do you use to capture uncompressed sd, and also dvcprohd in final cut?

Capture ur HDV tape wia Kona as 8 bit Uncompressed or 10 bit. Use this for ur DVD export also
