  • Preparing video for display is slowing me down.

Posted by Lanzi on July 14, 2005 at 10:01 am

A simple daft question. I have encountered this little problem before but cannot remember the settings I used to resolve it.

I am using FCP4. 1 continuous video track, 2 continuos audio tracks (no cuts).

The question is how can I drammatically reduce or eliminate the ‘Preparing video for display’ render time?

I am using DH-subtitle as text generator and everytime I move the clips along the timeline I have to wait 6 seconds for the ‘video to prepare’. It is slowing me down!

    Thanks for your help.

In addition: now I have reached 9mins 38secs into the video track and every DH_subtitle clip I put in needs to be rendered. My total film length is 31mins 46secs. What a monster!
