It’s the first time I have a film colour graded so I have question:
when I make a project ready for colour grading, what do I do with the pan and zoom parts, video mixdown? Any other things I should think of, I’m going to deliver it on a external harddisc.
It’s a short documentary (36min) DV25, and I’m using a lot of stills, scan over them with the pan and zoom plug in.

The footage is divers because I’m using a lot of material from the video artist who is the subject of the doc, and I did a lot of interviews I also used some scanned photo’s from paintings he did and photo’s from his youth in the seventies and scanned newspaper and magazine articles.

Any help would be mutch appreciated

    thanks, Core

The least mixdowns etc the better, I prefer a sequence where I’m aware of all joins and transitions, the pan and scan material shouldn’t be a problem, though in this instance you may want to mixdown the segment since the system you’re moving to may well not recognise the pan and scan info unless its an avid family product. Take you’re stills with you as the origional high rez files in case.

The most important rule is to talk to the on-line editor/colorist and check what they’re expecting/ omf/edl/qt/aaf/bin…..
