Prep for Closed Captions in Vegas 10
I want to do some closed caption work (perhaps in Vegas 10). I have a volunteer transcriptionist with Office 2007. How can I find out if he would best transcribe the files in Word or in Excel?

Should not matter in Word or Excel. You end up copy and paste to create a plain text file.
Vegas Pro 10 imports plain text file and automatically converts each line as a popup caption. The captions start at the playhead location and 2 seconds apart. After import, time-stamping captions can be done on-the-fly or one by one. Captions can be previewed and edited (text, underline, color, italics, position). Though default as CC1, they can be easily renamed to a different CC channel as a batch. At rendering time, 708 will be created by uplifting 608 as needed.
