Well, I got the Adobe Master Collection CS3 which includes Premiere Pro CS3. This is on a Dell running Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1. The software is pretty good but terribly unstable. If I open Premiere it works for a little while and then stops responding. It mostly happens when I add titles to videos and when I select my font. The whole program stops responding, turns all white, and I have to use task manager to close it. It bugs me because I cant get anything done. Is it just that I need to update it? Or are there compatibility problems commonly found in Vista? I really need help getting this software to work well.

Sounds like CPU or memory issues. CS3 on Vista needs at the minimum a Core 2 duo and 4 Gigs or RAM.

No, it does not. I have succesfully finished some smaller projects on my lowly Acer laptop with Vista (even without SP1, but with SP now too), 1,7 GHz single core Pentium M and 1 GB RAM. It even can work with HDV, but that is a real pain. But it requires nothing ever remotely close to C2D and 4 GB RAM.

Shenza, your problem is NOT Vista related. It’s a well known problem with Premiere titler. It simply crashes when it encounters bad font. Try to run Font Doctor or some other application for font management.

no problem on a vista home premium sp1 dell xps quad core 2.66. MUCH faster than on previous core 2 dou2.2

Interesting the font issue. I have not braught over my collections of 1000 free fonts. Worth keeping in mind if it starts crashing
