Premiere to Final Cut 7 to Color
I am a newby to the Adobe Production Suite. I have worked pretty much exclusively in a Final Cut environment (with occasional sound work sent to programs like Logic or Pro Tools). I was one of the orphans that took advantage of the great price Adobe offered in the wake of the FCPX release.
I am learning to work in Premiere, and love the production suite. However, one of the FCP Studio features I miss most is Color. So, I have a couple of questions. I still don’t 100% have the ins and outs of moving projects back and forth between FC7 and Premiere.
My big question is this: If I want to use Color, should I begin my edits in FCP7, color grade in Color, and then transfer to Premiere to finish up….or do my preliminary edit in Premiere, load that into FCP7 and then do my color correction.
This is all still new to me and am wondering if anybody here has a good workflow for this…or if I just lose too much in the transfers between NLEs to make this workable.
I don’t really want to spend the cash on Da Vinci Resolve if I don’t have to and Resolve Lite just has too many restrictions to get the job done.
